There’s plenty at Windchat Villas for guests of all ages (and activity levels). Down at the beach, have a swim in the warm water, take the kayaks or stand-up paddleboards out to explore or bring back honeymoon memories with a sunset stroll along the sand. Spot cruise ships from the porches, flip on the sound system as you stretch out in a lounger by the heated infinity pool or challenge everyone to shuffleboard, foosball, ping-pong or even tennis or basketball on the private court. When the sun begins to sink, rinse off in one of the outdoor showers and heat up the barbecue for dinner.

Built in 1964 by a Pan American Airways executive and recently renovated, Sunrise was the original villa on the site; its counterpart, Sunset, was just finished. But although they differ in age, the two houses share open layouts, a breezy aesthetic and stunning views. Neutral walls, high ceilings and sand-colored tile floors form the base for furnishings in tropical hues of watery turquoise and palm-leaf green. Both villas have formal dining areas with ocean views and bright, fully equipped kitchens.

Each of the two Windchat Villas has a master suite and one additional bedroom. In Sunrise, the master suite has a king bed, private hall bathroom and ocean views, and the second bedroom has two twin beds and an ensuite bathroom. There is also a sleeping loft available to accomodate two additional guests. In Sunset, all three bedrooms have an ensuite bathroom, and two bedrooms feature a balcony as well as ocean views.

From the villas’ location on North Palmetto Point, you’ll have easy access to the island’s other standout beaches, attractions and airports. Book your ticket into Governor’s Harbor Airport, Rock Sound International Airport or North Eleuthera Airport. Once at Windchat Villas, you’re just a 13 km drive from French Leave Beach and within day-trip distance of Surfer’s Beach and Lighthouse Beach. Ask the villa manager if you need help organizing a snorkeling or fishing expedition, a horseback ride on the beach, or take a day trip to swim with the pigs on Exuma. Meet local fauna at Edwin’s Turtle Lake Marine Preserve, locals themselves at Governor’s Harbour, or marvel at the natural scenery of Ocean Hole, the Hatchet Bay Caves, the Glass Window Bridge and Preacher’s Cave. If you have time to see more of the Bahamas on your holiday, neighboring Harbour Island is 70 km away, and tiny Spanish Wells is 85 km away.
