John Steinbeck was known for his novels and non-fiction works about the social and economic issues of his time and visited the then sleepy town of Positano, located on the Amalfi Coast. Steinbeck was inspired by its beauty and culture and spend countless hours wandering the steep, narrow streets, colorful houses, and along the beautiful beaches. Positano has long been a popular destination for artists and writers but it was Steinbeck who was utterly charmed and inspired by the natural beauty and laid-back atmosphere.
